The tension was almost palpable when the eleven-member jury from science, business and associations announced their decision at the xvention on September 8, 2022.

More than 170 teams, mainly from universities, startups and vocational schools had applied with their innovative research and development projects in the seven areas:
Social & Health, Smart Mobility, Environment, Smart Energy, Smart Industry, Digital Technologies and Education, applied. Strongly represented this time were projects from Argentina, Chile, China, Spain and Germany.
The xplore teams now have one year to realize their sustainability project ideas with Phoenix Contact support.
The best projects will be selected in October 2023, to coincide with Phoenix Contact’s 100th anniversary.
